Biological Safety
Biological Safety works to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and provides guidance for activities at the university employing:
- Recombinant nucleic acids
- Infectious agents
- Potentially infectious materials
- Select agents or toxins
- Other biological hazards
Biological Safety personnel with the Office of Research Committee Support (ORCS) and represent both the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), which reviews and approves research protocols that use these materials and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), which reviews and approves research protocols involving the care and use of animals in research.
