If your study received expedited review, yes (check your approval letter to check the review type). If your study was given an exemption by COMIRB, please contact us before submitting an amendment.

No. Only the Principal Investigator, Co-Investigator(s), and Primary Contact should be listed on the personnel form in InfoEd. The PI remains responsible for ensuring that all research staff, including PRAs and study coordinators, complete the required CITI Training.

If this project is only intended to improve pedagogy, IRB review is not required. If this project is considered research, and will be presented/published as such, please see the SoTL section.

Projects examining K-12 public school students, staff, and/or parents should contact the Center for Practice Engaged Education Research (C-PEER) to determine if C-PEER review is needed in order to comply with state laws (Kent.Seidel@ucdenver.edu, Julie.OBrian@ucdenver.edu). K-12 classroom projects that meet the definition of human subjects research also require COMIRB review.

A survey is an interaction with a subject. You need COMIRB review if you ask any questions about the subjects themselves, even if you do not collect identifiers. If the survey does not include questions about the subjects (e.g., limited to questions about their profession or their place of work), you may not need IRB review. Contact COMIRB if you have any questions.
