Single Audit Requirements
Post-Award
Jun 8, 2026In the March 2026 newsletter, we posted information about where to find our Single Audit on our website, and we also reported there were no findings. We have also posted our annual letter on our website as needed to provide to pass-through entities. It can be found in the A-Z section of the website.
Some sponsors such as HRSA also require that our Single Audit is published in the Federal Audit Clearinghouse. If you would like to access the audit using the Clearinghouse, you can search by our UEI "MW8JHK6ZYEX8" which will pull up the State of Colorado audit where our campus is found. The audit was submitted to the Clearinghouse on March 9th, 2026.
HRSA also sends out general reminders to our campus PI's with HRSA award to remind them of this requirement. If you receive a message like the one pictured below, nothing is needed as the audit is submitted and complete and the requirement met for the most recent year.
If you have questions or concerns about the audit or its location contact Barb Hayes.
Sample HRSA reminder
HHS reminds grantees that they are required to comply with all Federal law and regulations under the terms of their award. Under the Single Audit Act (31 USC 7501-7507) and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200 Subpart F), grantees must adhere to Federal audit requirements, including submitting a Single Audit if expending $1,000,000 or more in Federal funds annually. In compliance with the law, HHS will be actively reviewing Single Audit findings and expects grantees to take prompt and appropriate corrective action on identified deficiencies and material weaknesses. Grantees that issue subawards are also required to monitor their subrecipients’ audit compliance as required under 2 CFR 200.332.
Consequences of Noncompliance
Grantees that fail to meet audit and subrecipient monitoring requirements may be subject to enforcement actions, including specific conditions on their award under 2 CFR 200.208 or remedies for noncompliance under 2 CFR 200.339, up to and including suspension of funding or award termination.
