What is a VA Mou?

A form required for any CU Denver faculty members with a dual appointment between CU and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This form states the sponsor is not duplicating salary already paid by the VA as well as certifies that the individual is no over-committed.

Any person who is listed in the proposal budget who has a dual appointment with the VA should include their current fully executed VA MOU with the proposal routing. This is considered a required internal document for proposals for all sponsors (not just NIH). These should be updated annually to align with the NIH Grants Policy Statement Part II Subpart B Section 17.3.

We realize it can take time to get a fully executed copy from the VA, so at the routing stage we will accept a partially executed MOU that includes all applicable CU signatures. OGC will not submit a proposal without a current MOU approved by CU Denver and signed by all required CU Denver signatories.
