UCHealth: Epic Recruitment Options
UCHealth will be initiating new options in Epic for researchers to optimize recruitment efforts.
We now have two new initiatives for study teams to utilize:
- Patient preferences – This is a NEW patient facing element in MyHealthConnection (MHC) which allows patients to declare their potential preferences for research recruitment.Currently, we are working with patients to educate them about adding their preference to the system.Ultimately, the Epic Recruitment Report, based on this patient entered information, will allow IRB approved members of the research study to obtain lists of patients interested in research.This will help facilitate research for all investigators, especially those that want to contact a patient while there is no clinical relationship with the Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Investigators(Co-Is) in this study.
- Research Opportunities – This is a NEW element in which Epic will build out a placard (mini summary of the trial) for patients meeting the inclusion/exclusion criteria for a study.Patients can receive up to five (5) personalized placards in their MHC view. If you would like your project to have a placard built so that information appears in MHC or any potentially eligible participant, please complete this form.Once you submit your request, UCHealth Research Administration will review your request with Digital Patient Experience and communicate the decision within 3 weeks.We encourage you to review the Research Opportunities Guiding Principles.
