The chemicals identified below require a completed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) from every laboratory that uses them as part of their research. The designated laboratory representative has the responsibility for completing an SOP for each chemical listed below that is used in the laboratory.
Upon completion, a copy of the SOP and the Chemical SOP Signature sheet will be emailed to the laboratory representative to print.
Each laboratory member working with the chemical must read and understand the SOP, and sign the Chemical SOP Signature sheet.
Both the completed SOP and the Chemical SOP Signature sheet need to be kept together under Appendix A of the laboratory's Chemical Hygiene Plan and be made readily available for inspection.
New members to the laboratory whose work involves chemicals with an SOP, will need to review those SOPs and sign the Chemical SOP Signature sheet.
