The new COMIRB application will be available Monday, April 15th. The old application will no longer be available.

New COMIRB Application is approximately 70% shorter than the old application. We have attempted to eliminate all questions that ought to be answered in the protocol. This necessitated updated protocol templates, which are already posted on the COMIRB Forms page. Use of the new application will require the use of a new protocol template, unless the protocol originates form an external collaborator.

All new submissions created in InfoEd on or after April 15, 2024 will require a protocol, including exempt research.

Active research:

No existing approved research or research currently under review will be required to use the new COMIRB application or to rewrite their protocol. Continue to use and modify the approved documents until the study closes.

External protocols:

Protocols which are industry-initiated or initiated from another site will be accepted. If an external protocol does not include all the information we require, answer the questions in the COMIRB application to expand the form to provide any additional information.
