Equipment and Space Rental
Procedural space is available within the vivaria and can be reserved online using the University’s EMS Web App(Vivarium Equipment and Space Request How To) . Please note that reservations are for the room BSC or the Counter Space, not for the entire room.
Anesthesia machines are also available for reservation through the EMS Web App. You must have been trained on the proper use and cleaning of the machine prior to being able to reserve these.
There is a variety of other common items available, on a limited, first come – first served, basis. There is no fee to reserve these items however there is a cleaning charge or a replacement cost charge for breakage.

Reserving Equipment Guidelines
Please use the EMS Web App rental page to reserve equipment Equipment available to rent: Scales and weigh boats Bead sterilizers Anesthesia machines (if you’ve been trained) Tattoo machine (if you’ve been trained) Contact the veterinary staff for availability of equipment not listed Clean equipment with Clidox before returning and please make sure all items that were present upon renting it are there when the item is returned. Please let a technician know if the equipment is in need of repair. There is no fee for equipment rental; however a cleaning fee of up to $75 will be applied if the equipment is not cleaned prior to being returned. ABSL Anesthesia Machine- There is 1 Anesthesia machine dedicated to the ABSL. To reserve, please contact OLAR at OLAR.Admin@cuanschutz.edu . Please note that you cannot reserve this machine under the regular EMS reservation system, nor can you bring a non ABSL machine into the ABSL.
