Food and Drink in the Lab

Eating, drinking or applying cosmetics in a laboratory area can increase the risk for ingestion of hazardous chemicals, or radioactive or infectious materials.       

Consumption and storage of food or drink is prohibited​ in the lab, except within a clearly designated safe area separated by a door from the main lab.     

Edible items stored in the lab and intended for research use must be labeled “Not for Human Use.”​
