Developing a data-driven approach to grant-seeking, which leverages insights gained from analyzing sponsor priorities and trends in current and projected federal funding, can help increase CU Anschutz’s competitive advantage for securing grants – from the campus and schools/college levels, to even the department/center and lab levels.
The ultimate goals of our office’s strategic intelligence efforts are to:
- Maintain existing and create new alignments between CU Anschutz and funders.
- Determine where to socialize our research proposals with the greatest likelihood of funding success.
- Anticipate new funding initiatives and opportunities to grow the scope, scale and impact of our research portfolio.

As our office continues to grow, we plan to expand our analytics branch to increase the capacity for strategic intelligence tailored for specific schools/college, departments and labs.
