Now holding instructor-led classes "Radiation Worker Training - Part II". Please follow the registration instructions below. Only three students can take the exam at once at the EHS Support Facility. Instruction on zoom.
Two-part training is required to obtain Radiation Worker certification:
It is highly recommended to complete this two-part sequentially.
To maintain Radiation Worker certification, the Radiation Safety Refresher training must be completed annually in Skillsoft.
The course covers basic radiation physics, instrumentation, biological effects of ionizing radiation, radiation protection principles and radioactive waste, among other topics.
This is an instructor-led training, offered monthly, reviewing topics from the initial training, plus use and selection of instrumentation, radioactivity calculations, and decay concept. An overview of RAM use in the lab setting is discussed, as well as recommendations for record-keeping.
Currently offered sessions:
10/5/2021, Tuesday, 9:00-10:00AM, zoom-class, followed by (~1hr) exam at EHS Support Facility (on-campus).
