Big Data Seminar Series

This seminar series features one to two hour overviews of various topics involving “big data”, typically offered every other month. Topics include big data in multiple contexts: omics technologies, wearables, imaging, electronic health records, and more.
Presenters first present their expertise which is followed by a questions and answer session with the speaker, and sometimes a panel of experts on the topic of interest. These events are engaging and interactive so attendees can get answers to questions they have or connect with audience members who may be able to help them.
A topical overview is provided, along with some examples of the types of questions that can be investigated (and answered using big data) in the given domain. Practical tips for handling the domain-specific data and the accompanying statistical analyses are also offered
