Special Announcements

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is inviting institutions to submit one application for a pediatric oncology fellowship award. For Fellowship Awards, a program/institution is defined by the institution’s American Board of Pediatrics approved fellowship program in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. 

Fellowships are granted for two (2) years of pediatric oncology fellowship training, with an opportunity for one (1) additional year of funding based upon need, significant accomplishment, and approved application.   

Basic Requirements

• Applicants should hold an M.D. or D.O. degree by the date the grant becomes effective. 
• Applicants must be employed by an academic or non-profit research institution or laboratory.
• Applicant should be in their 2nd or 3rd year of pediatric oncology fellowship at the LOI due date. 
• Applicants may not hold an appointment of assistant professor or above. 
• Applicants must have a fellowship mentor who provides supervision, facilities, and research support at an American Board of Pediatrics approved fellowship program in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. 

Institutions may submit only one (1) new fellowship application per year. If you would like to be considered for this funding opportunity, please submit your submission for the internal review process by 5pm on June 17, 2022.

Metabolic Imaging Workshop

We are pleased to announce the first “Metabolic Imaging Workshop” hosted by the Colorado Nutrition and Obesity Research Center (NORC) and the Colorado Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CCTSI).   

This workshop will provide a broad overview on state-of-the-art metabolic imaging modalities and protocols including PET/CT, PET/MRI, MRI/MRS, QCT, DXA, and ultrasound.

Peter J. Culshaw Family Junior Investigator Award in Type 1 Diabetes Research 2022 Request for Applications

The Peter J. Culshaw Family Junior Investigator Award is intended to support a promising young investigator developing novel ideas in type 1 diabetes. 

This program will provide $50,000 a year for two years (renewable for a third year if adequate progress is demonstrated) to support development of research ideas and preparation to compete for external funding.

The CCTSI CO-Mentor program is now accepting applications for review. CO-Mentor is an integrated series of four workshops designed to enhance the career development experience for a mentor/mentee pair.     

Evidence-based strategies are used to teach mentor/mentee pairs the skills they need to get the most out of their mentoring relationships.     

Topics include: career mapping and creating a career development plan, setting goals, CV building, establishing the mentor/mentee relationship, and writing effective mentor letters.     

The dates for next year's workshops are: 

• October 7, 2022
• December 2, 2022
• January 20, 2023
• March 3, 2023
