Access to eRA InfoEd System - Information Regarding Person of Interest (POI) Number

If you are needing a UC Denver email account in order to work together with a University of Colorado department, please contact that department directly, and ask their departmental Personnel and Payroll Liaison (PPL) for assistance with this. Most likely you will then be directed to submit a Sponsored User Registration form to create a new UC Denver username and email address for you. They would also need to let you know which Organization Name you should choose in the drop down list on that form as your Sponsoring Department. It is essential that they know you are submitting this form to them so they can get it approved.

A Person of Interest (POI) sponsorship for InfoEd eRA access grants access to a set of systems called the UC Denver portals. This access will allow you to connect with several areas of the Denver network, including the Electronic Research Administration (eRA, aka InfoEd). The library systems, however, are not included in these. Access to a UC Denver library must be obtained directly from the library. These separate resource groupings are in part with respect to legal obligations of the University, including copyright and breadth of access to University materials. 

If you do not have one already you should be able to obtain a free borrowing card for the UC Denver libraries, but this will not automatically allow you electronic access if you want it. As a next step for you to see what level of UCD library access you are able to obtain, we recommend that you fill out and submit the application form.

Then the library staff will be able to look up your information and determine what level of UCD library access you qualify for. If you would like to talk with someone there on the phone, there are a couple of people listed toward the top of that web page.

If you are needing lab access for bench or animal research, you should speak with the department you will be working together with, as they are who should be your sponsor for it. Most likely the person there who would actually do this for you would be their departmental Personnel and Payroll Liaison (PPL).

If you are a University of Colorado Student, you can register on the CITI webpage at https://www.citiprogram.org, adding Your Organization Affiliation as the University of Colorado Denver. If in this process you are asked for an Employee or POI number there, you can enter your Student number and it should work fine. 

If you are a University of Colorado Employee, you can do the above and if it is asked for, input your Employee ID number. 

If you are an Employee of a University of Colorado affiliate (Children's Hospital Colorado, Denver Health Medical Center, University of Colorado Hospital, and the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System), you may submit this POI Information Form, as a part of the process to gain access to the InfoEd eRA research tracking system. Then once you know your POI number, you can register on the CITI webpage at https://www.citiprogram.org, adding Your Organization Affiliation as the University of Colorado Denver, and if asked for it, your POI number. 

If you are neither a Student nor an Employee of the University of Colorado or its affiliates, you can still take CITI training by registering on the CITI webpage at https://www.citiprogram.org, adding Your Organization Affiliation as the University of Colorado Denver, and then if asked for an Employee or POI number simply enter any form of ID number you would like. No University sponsorship is necessary for this registration or access. The different types of numbers described above are only needed for some certification tracking and posting purposes.

If you need to have a Conflict of Interest (COI) form on file with the University of Colorado Denver, complete and submit this POI Information Form in order to gain access to the InfoEd eRA research tracking system. A COI declaration must be completed within this electronic system. 

During the process of being given this access, instructions on how to complete your COI disclosure will be emailed to you.

In order to obtain access to the UC Denver InfoEd eRA system to work with the Office of Grants and Contracts, Researchers, Staff Members, and Volunteers with University of Colorado affiliates require this two-step process: 

1. Complete and submit a Person of Interest (POI) Information Form. Once your request is processed, your personal profile will be granted access to the UC Denver Portals.
2. After receiving an email that your POI number has been linked to your UC Denver login, then you should be able to log in!

If you already have completed any of this in the past, your information will help us to identify your previously existing records and you will go through the process that much more quickly
