We are seeking volunteers with a BMI over 30 to participate in a 1.5 hour focus group to discuss a low-fat diet meal plan.

Skeletal Response to Simulated Night Shift (SPOTLIGHT Study)

Eligibility:

  • Healthy men and women aged 20-40 years old.
  • Habitually sleep 7-9 hours/night.
  • Have not done night shift work in the past year.
  • Do not currently smoke.
  • Fully vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2.

The Influence of Combined Oral Contraceptives on Weight: A 6-month Observational Study

Eligibility:

  • Female.
  • 18-40 years old.
  • BMI between 25-45.
  • Generally healthy.
  • Not currently using a hormonal form of birth control and EITHER willing to start and continue the Sprintec pill for 6 months, OR willing to continue using a non-hormonal method for 6 months.

Neuronal and Behavioral Effects of an Implicit Priming Approach to Improve Eating Behaviors in Obesity

Study volunteers will be asked to complete an MRI scan, during which they will watch pictures of foods. Participants will also complete a 12-week intervention that involves viewing food or food images, with once-weekly study visits. After the intervention, we will ask volunteers to complete another MRI scan. During the study, volunteers will also complete questionnaires about food, eating, or mood, and will have their body composition measured. To be eligible for the study, participants must be between 18-65 years old, have a BMI of 27 or greater, and be able to complete an MRI scan.

Cannabis Teens and Choice Study (CATCH Study)

We are currently seeking participants ages 14-21 for a two visit (one remote, one on campus) study at CU Anschutz. The purpose of this research is to better understand the effects of substance use on decision making and biologic-systems in adolescents. Compensation is provided.

The Short-Chain Fatty Acid Acetate for Improving Age-Associated Arterial Dysfunction

We are looking for relatively healthy men and women who are 50 years of age or older to participate in a research studying observing the effects of oral supplementation with acetate, a substance produced by gut bacteria when you eat fiber, on artery health with aging.
