As a reminder, all research studies that are IRB approved and are currently recruiting are able to promote their study for a limited time.  Previously this functionality was only available to actively recruiting studies in OnCore.

Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with this summary document as it highlights specific details and how the Research Studies administrative tool can be updated appropriately.

If you are looking to recruit participants to your research study, and your study is currently listed on the Research Studies website we encourage you to submit a request to feature your study in an upcoming newsletter.

Use of Oscillometry in Toddler Study

Using Oscillometry in Toddler Aerodigestive Patients to Monitor Lung Function Response to Treatment

We are seeking healthy controls between the ages of 18 months-6 years to participate in our study. Volunteers will perform a breathing test called oscillometry using three unique mouthpieces.


MIXED Study

MIXED - Cardiovascular Mechanisms of Exercise Intolerance in Diabetes and the Role of Sex

  • Men and women performing less than 1 hour of exercise per week between the ages of 30-55.
  • Men and women with and without type 2 diabetes.

Inhaled Cannabis Study

Inhaled Cannabis, Oxidative Stress and the Pulmonary Innate Immune Response

We are studying what chronic marijuana smoking does to lung health, comparing those who use marijuana to those who do not. Participation involves a thorough pulmonary evaluation by a lung physician by physical exam, chest x-ray, spirometry and bronchoscopy. Volunteers should be between ages 27-55, have no history of heavy alcohol or other recreational drug abuse and no chronic medical conditions.

We are examining the effects of heavy alcohol and tobacco use on the development of pneumonia and serious pulmonary disease. Participation involves a thorough pulmonary evaluation by a lung physician by physical exam, chest x-ray, spirometry and bronchoscopy. We are looking for control participants: volunteers should be between ages 30-55, have no history of heavy alcohol or recreational drug abuse and no chronic medical conditions.


Virtual Reality Mindfulness Application to Reduce Stress Study

VR Mindfulness to Reduce Stress and Promote Wellbeing

The National Mental Health Innovation Center is recruiting up to 75 students, residents, fellows at CU Anschutz to participate in the study. Participants will be provided with Oculus Quest or Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets for the duration of the evaluation period (8-weeks). They will be asked to complete at least one 8-10 minute TRIPP VR mindfulness session 3-5 days per week via the VR headset or their mobile phone.

  • Healthy man or woman (not pregnant) aged 20-40 years old
  • Premenopausal women must be on continuous oral contraception pills
  • Habitually sleep 7-9 hours/night
  • No night shift work in the past year
  • A non-smoker

Feasibility of VR Programs Study

Feasibility of VR Programs for Anxiety Related Disorders in an Outpatient Care Setting

We are recruiting up to 20 adolescents, 14-18 years old, who experience anxiety in social situations and 10 providers who treat adolescents who experience anxiety in social situations to participate in a research study.
