As a reminder, all research studies that are IRB approved and are currently recruiting are able to promote their study for a limited time. Previously this functionality was only available to actively recruiting studies in OnCore.
Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with this summary document as it highlights specific details and how the Research Studies administrative tool can be updated appropriately.

Tissue-Specific Mechanisms Underlying the Unique Insulin Resistance Phenotype in T1D
This study plans to learn more about your body's ability to use insulin and what kinds of substances are found in your muscles and fat tissue that may affect how your body uses insulin. You might be eligible if you are between the ages of 20-45, do NOT have a history of cardiovascular disease, are NOT taking statins, do NOT have untreated thyroid disease, have NOT had a kidney and/or pancreas transplant, are NOT a nicotine user, have NOT been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes OR have had type 1 diabetes for at least 5 years.
Shingles Vaccine Research Study Persons Age 50 And Older
There are 4-11 visits; procedures include blood draws, administration of a challenge dose of the shingles vaccine, and may consist of a skin biopsy. The FDA-approved Shingrix vaccine will be offered at study conclusion to participants who've never received it before.
Eligibility:
- Age 50 or older.
- In general good health.
- Have never had shingles.
- Received a shingles vaccine ≥ 5 years ago and can provide documentation or never received a shingles vaccine.
"SPOTLIGHT": Skeletal Response to Simulated Night Shift
- Healthy man or woman (not pregnant) aged 20-40 years old
- Premenopausal women must be on continuous oral contraception pills
- Habitually sleep 7-9 hours/night
- No night shift work in the past year
- A non-smoker
Nexplanon Extension Trial Study
This study is being done to look at the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of the Nexplanon implant beyond 3 years usage in preventing pregnancy.
