ARPA-H Funding
Newly Announced: Resilient Extended Automatic Cell Therapies (REACT), aims to empower patients to more effectively manage their health, reducing the need for invasive and expensive long-term treatments. ARPA-H is seeking solutions to form two implantable devices: a Living Pharmacy, which delivers therapeutic molecules, as well as a Living Sentinel which detects key biomarkers of disease.
Proposers' Day - November 16, 2023. (Please contact Jamie Kutner if you are interested in attending.)
Newly Announced: ARPA-H Biomedical Data Fabric (BDF) Toolbox in Collaboration with NCI to advance next-generation software tools to synthesize and speed the use of health research data. Two mechanisms are available through this program:
ARPA-H Biomedical Data Fabric Toolbox – Technical areas of focus: automated data collection (TA1), curation of multisource data & analysis (TA2), data exploration and dashboards for researchers and decision-makers (TA3) Abstracts Due: October 6, 2023 Full Proposals Due: November 14, 2023
NCI | Fredrick National Laboratory Collaborations RFP – Focus is to evaluate the data fabric tools with early use cases specifically in cancer (TA4).
Bidders Conference: October 12, 2023
Full Proposals Due: November 14, 2023
CU Anschutz Programmatic Incubator for Research (CU ASPIRE) Program
The goal of the CU ASPIRE Program is to increase submission and success of program project, center grants, and large multi-project team science programs (not multi-PI R01s) on campus by supporting milestone-driven collaborations between investigators across campus.
To submit a proposal for these opportunities: Interested candidates must send a one-page summary of their research proposal and their biosketch in pdf format via the Limited Submission Portal

This seminar series features one to two hour overviews of various topics involving “big data," typically offered every other month. Topics include big data in multiple contexts: omics technologies, wearables, imaging, electronic health records, and more.
Presenters first present their expertise which is followed by a questions and answer session with the speaker, and sometimes a panel of experts on the topic of interest. These events are engaging and interactive so attendees can get answers to questions they have or connect with audience members who may be able to help them.
A topical overview is provided, along with some examples of the types of questions that can be investigated (and answered using big data) in the given domain. Practical tips for handling the domain-specific data and the accompanying statistical analyses are also offered.
October 11, 2023 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, available via Zoom.
The Fundamentals of Statistical Literacy Short Course will help you improve your ability to critically assess literature and understand and communicate biostatistical issues. Topics are introduced and discussed in the context of the research process and tied back to phases of research that investigators will understand.
Material is presented in short videos, in-class lecture and discussion, and group study and presentation of specific case studies taken from real-world scenarios. This class will not teach you how to carry out the analyses themselves, as there is no coding and minimal computation.
VIRTUAL October 24 - December 12
