Dear Research Colleagues,
As a reminder, the third annual University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Research Awards Ceremony will take place this winter.
This ceremony celebrates faculty, staff and trainees who have made significant contributions in their field and to the campus research community. Awards will be presented at a live celebratory event to be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
There are many award categories available to recognize faculty and staff members who have been directly involved in research as well as those who are critical to the support of the research community. Please take a few moments to review the award descriptions and submit a nomination for a colleague or, in some cases, a team using the nomination form button below.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, November 17, 2023.
Thomas Flaig, MD Vice Chancellor for Research

Seeking CU Anschutz Thought Leaders in Quantum and Human Health — CU Anschutz is a proud part of Elevate Quantum Colorado, a consortium named a Tech Hub by the U.S. Economic Development Association (EDA). The designation positions CO as a global leader in quantum healthcare innovations and qualifies us to apply for Tech Hub grants from EDA ($70M+). We are forming a Special Interest Group (SIG) to inform directions for quantum and human health research at CU Anschutz and a Tech Hub grant (e.g., drug discovery, precision medicine, radiotherapy/imaging, clinical decision supports). Please complete this form if interested to join the SIG.

The Fundamentals of Statistical Literacy Short Course will help you improve your ability to critically assess literature and understand and communicate biostatistical issues. Topics are introduced and discussed in the context of the research process and tied back to phases of research that investigators will understand.
Material is presented in short videos, in-class lecture and discussion, and group study and presentation of specific case studies taken from real-world scenarios. This class will not teach you how to carry out the analyses themselves, as there is no coding and minimal computation.

The purpose of this grant program is to support the development of exceptional research projects that will help lead to the conquest of cancer and will further the objectives of the CU Cancer Center. Studies in all areas of cancer research (laboratory, clinical, prevention and control, and psychosocial cancer research) will be considered for funding.
ACS IRG Grants aim to entice young faculty to pursue cancer-related research problems and are reserved for applicants who are in their first few years as junior faculty members (instructors and assistant professors) and who are in the process of establishing independent cancer research programs.
Questions regarding the ACS-IRG seed grants and application should be directed to Paige Diller.
