Dear Research Colleagues,
It is hard to believe that next week is Thanksgiving and the holiday season is upon us. I thank each of you for your collaboration and teamwork as we continue to navigate challenging times.
Next month, we will be presenting the annual State of Research Address. Please register as the 2021 update will be held virtually. The address will highlight the mission and vision of research at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. There will be updates on current administrative efforts and support currently in place, and future growth initiatives. If your schedule allows, I do hope you will attend.

Special Announcements
ADEAR Training Program
The ADEAR Training Program has an open position and is accepting applications on a rolling basis.
This integrative program provides multidisciplinary training in basic, translational and clinical science in human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV)/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) research.
Awardees will receive training under the direction of a broadly based group of faculty at the University of Colorado campuses in Aurora, Boulder and Denver, Colorado State University and Denver University. Our training program faculty are experienced mentors and actively engaged in research spanning basic virology, drug development, medication adherence, treatment of comorbidities, PrEP, STDs, TB, development of new models of care, and HIV in resource-limited settings.

SOM ASPIRE Program
We are pleased to announce a new RFA to foster the development of interdisciplinary, programmatic research on campus. The goal of the CU Anschutz SOM Programmatic Incubator for Research (CU ASPIRE) Program is to increase submission and success of program project, center grants, and large multi-investigator programs on campus by supporting milestone-driven collaborations between investigators across campus.
- Two awards will be made annually up to $100,000/year each for up to 2 years of support
- At least 3 and no more than 5 investigators are required as part of the application
- PI must hold a primary appointment in a Department within the School of Medicine.
- Due date: February 14, 2022
