To learn more about the administrative tool of Research Studies, please register for office hours held on Thursdays from 12-1pm. During this time, we will provide tips and guidelines to help increase your study recruitment on the Research Studies website.

Food Research

Volunteers Needed for Food Research Study

Veterans are needed for a research study that aims to learn more about how men and women differ in the way their brains respond to food and hunger. It also plans to learn more about how hormones and the menstrual cycle affect these responses.


DAPASALT Study

ULTRA T2D: Uric Acid Lowering Trail in Youth-Onset Type 2 Diabetes

Young men ages 18-35 with type two diabetes needed for research on the effect of uric acid in the body before and after an infusion of a uric acid lowering medication.


SPOTLIGHT Study

SPOTLIGHT (Skeletal Response to Simulated Night Shift)

  • Recruiting healthy men and women (not pregnant) aged 20-40 years old
  • Premenopausal women must be on continuous oral contraception pills
  • Habitually sleep 7-9 hours/night
  • No night shift work in the past year
  • Non-smokers

BBC Study

The Brain Body Connection (BBC)

This study is being done to look at the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of the Nexplanon implant beyond three years of usage in preventing pregnancy. We are also interested in how extending its usage beyond the current FDA approval of 3 years affects the menstrual cycle and whether complications arise once it is removed.

Food Intake and the Adolescent Brain

Seeking volunteers age 13-18 to study the brain's response to sugar and how it contributes to food intake in adolescents.

Research about alternative ways to measure the amount of hormones from a birth control pill

Participation will include taking one pack of birth control pills, containing both desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol.


SitWise Study

Prolonged Sedentary Behavior in Older Women with and without Type 2 Diabetes: Knowledge, Engagement, and Relationship to Cardiometabolic Risk (SitWise Study)

The ACTIVE Research Lab is looking for women with Type 2 Diabetes who may be interested in participating in a research study to understand the health effects of the time we spend sitting.
