January 4, 2022 Research Bulletin

Volume 3, Issue 1

Dear Research Community Colleagues,

As 2021 ended and 2022 began, Boulder County was hit by the Marshall Fire, which has impacted several members in our community. Our condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy. Please reach out and access resources as needed

COVID continues in 2022. More details will follow later this week regarding our continued research processes in the wake of the omicron variant.

The research community keeps moving with all of your support. We did want to take a moment and share with you the new Chief Research Informatics Office website. Melissa Haendel, PhD and her team are here to support you and your teams as needed.  Please email for more specifics.

Thanks everyone and please continue to wear masks and follow return to campus guidelines.

American Cancer Society - Institutional Research Grant (ACS-IRG) Seed Grant Funding - 2022

The purpose of this grant program is to support the development of exceptional research projects that will help lead to the conquest of cancer and will further the objectives of the CU Cancer Center.

Studies in all areas of cancer research - laboratory, clinical, prevention and control, and psychosocial cancer research - will be considered for funding.

ACS IRG Grants aim to entice young faculty to pursue cancer-related research problems and are reserved for applicants who are in their first few years as junior faculty members (instructors and assistant professors) and who are in the process of establishing independent cancer research programs.

Questions regarding the ACS-IRG seed grants and application should be directed to Paige Diller.

All applications should be submitted here. Paper applications will not be accepted or reviewed.

Each award is for 1 year in the amount of $30,000.

Application Due Date: Monday, January 31, 2022

Call for Applications: Clinical Faculty Scholars

Join a longstanding network of successful clinical and outcomes researchers!

We are recruiting early-career researchers for a highly effective training program in mentored research.

The CCTSI Clinical Faculty Scholars Program is looking for 5-6 new scholars for the 2022-2024 cohort.

This program is a two-year intensive mentored junior faculty development program designed to develop research-oriented faculty into independent investigators in patient-oriented clinical, outcomes or policy research.

Participants typically submit grants for major external funding and have gaps in mentorship, key skills,  grantsmanship and career planning.

Please see the requirements for sponsorship, including protected research time for the scholar and program fees.  Applications can be submitted via the CCTSI website. Questions and inquiries can be sent to Kathleen Spindle

Call for applications are due March 18, 2022
