Volume 2, Issue 13

Dear Research Community Colleagues,

We recently launched our Limited Submission Portal under the direction of Amy Gannon, associate vice chancellor for financial services and controller; and Lori Sussel, PhD, associate vice chancellor for basic science research. This is the new mechanism to submit an application if you would like to be considered for limited submission funding opportunities.

One such example is the W.M. Keck Foundation Grants Program that supports outstanding science, engineering and medical research projects that are high risk with the potential for transformative impact. The Foundation solicits one institutional nomination biannually.

One of our first successes with this newly revamped nomination process is with our Keck Foundation nominees Drs. Matthew Taliaferro (School of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics) and Chad Pearson (School of Medicine, Department of Cell and Developmental Biology).

These investigators received a prestigious $1 million grant from the W.M. Keck Foundation for their innovative project titled “Control of cell division through centrosomal RNA localization”.

For up-to-date information regarding all Limited Submission Funding Opportunities and to submit your application please visit and bookmark the Limited Submission Funding Opportunities website.

Sincerely,
Thomas Flaig, MD
Vice Chancellor for Research
University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz

NIH Funding Announcements

NIH funding opportunities and notices are presented weekly. Please see the current and past updates below.

Limited Funding Opportunities

Currently we are seeing an increase in the number of limited institutional grant opportunities in which we can nominate a single applicant from our institution. Due to the short turn-around time we will have a modified and shortened process for these types of grant opportunities.

Please take a moment to visit and bookmark the newly launched website featuring limited funding opportunities.

To submit a proposal for these opportunities:

Interested candidates must send a one-page summary of their research proposal and their biosketch in pdf format via the Limited Submission Portal.
