September 21, 2021 Research Bulletin

Volume 2, Issue 18

Dear Research Colleagues,

Thank you all for your continued collaboration and flexibility as we navigate the impacts of COVID both personally and professionally.

As the situation continues to evolve, we are proud of the research that continues to be at the forefront for positive change.

For several future issues of the Research Bulletin, I will take the opportunity to highlight some accomplishments and research administration updates.

For this issue, I am excited to introduce changes with the Clinical Research Support Team (CReST).

CReST was created in 2017 as a CCTSI program to fill gaps in clinical research support for investigators and clinical research teams. CReST saw rapid growth and by 2021 they had expanded to a team of 15 clinical research professionals, supporting over 130 studies with more than 70 unique investigators in 30 departments across campus.

The success of CReST would not have been possible without substantial initial investment and continued support from the CCTSI. We thank Ron Sokol, MD, Janine Higgins, PhD and the entire CCTSI administration for their contribution to CReST.

As CReST has proved to be an integral resource to clinical research across the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, CReST has now moved to operate within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. CReST has become a huge asset to the clinical research operations on campus and I look forward to its continued success and expansion.

Today, September 21, CReST is leading the Clinical Research Connections monthly forum at 12pm.  Please visit the CReST website for more details on the meeting and CReST services.

Thank you all for your valued partnership and collaboration.

Sincerely,
Thomas Flaig, MD
